Our own little baby owl

My mom has a baby owl that has taken up residence in a tree outside of her living room.  Every time she plays the piano, he sits and watches her play.  It's pretty adorable!  He's just a little Screech Owl and he looks a lot like these fellas below:

Care for a dip in the pool?

I've been swimming every single day since I arrived back in Austin.  I just can't think of anything better.  I may have missed a couple months of pool time earlier this summer but I'm definitely trying to soak up all the chances I can to swim now that I'm back in Texas.  It's the perfect way to spend these hot summer days in Austin!

Appealing packaging: Boots Original Formula

Boots Pharmacy, one of my favorite places to peruse when visiting London, has a line for Target that recently got an adorably old-fashioned makeover.  Their line of original formula skin care products come in packaging that channels the original Boots products of the 1880's.  The simple, uncomplicated products are also a nice change of pace from today's confusing array of chemically enhanced beauty items.  I think it's absolutely lovely and would look adorable sitting on any bathroom counter.

I purchased the skin tonic (that smells incredible!) but am anxious to check out more products in the near future.
Pics 1, 2, 3, 4.  Check out the full line of Boots Pharmacy products for Target here.

I'm currently waiting on my laundry, just like this little pup.  Thank goodness the rest of my clothes are expected to arrive tomorrow!  Yay for the movers finally showing up in the morning!!

500 Days of Summer

I finally got around to seeing this movie last night and it definitely lived up to my expectations.  Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel were both very endearing and the way in which the film was sequenced was unique and intriguing to me.  I laughed 'til I cried at times, I also almost cried for other reasons at times, but overall I really enjoyed it.  I also was totally diggin' the soundtrack all the way through.  I give it a thumbs up!  {pic}

I hope I'm this cool at 89 years old.

"Miles and Miles of Texas" by Asleep At The Wheel

Believe me, I've seen MILES of Texas in the past few days.

Sadie acted as Jeff's navigator on the drive home.

I made it back to Texas, y'all!

It was a long 5 days in the car but I've finally made it back to Texas.  Hopefully that means I can get back on the blog with more posts in the near future.  As soon as I get some photos transferred to my computer, I'll be happy to share some pics from Arches National Park and Mesa Verde, too.  For right now, however, I need to track down the movers and figure out when they're arriving with my stuff.  See ya soon!   -Lauren      {via}
